🍰 What is Tres Leches Cake?
In Spanish, tres leches means “three milks,” and this dreamy dessert gets its name from the three kinds of milk it’s soaked in: sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk (plus a splash of vanilla, just for fun!). The result? A perfectly moist, melt-in-your-mouth cake that’s rich without being too heavy.
💡 CWT Pro Tips:
Make it the night before! This cake is even better after chilling overnight.
Want to spice it up? Add a dash of cinnamon to the milk mixture or top with fresh fruit like strawberries or mango! 🍓🥭
Serve cold for the ultimate refreshing bite on a warm day.

Easy Tres Leches Cake
Servings – 12 Prep Time – 10 Minutes Chill Time: 3 Hours
Cook Time – 35-40 Minutes
Ingredients:
15-ounce box white cake mix
14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
12-ounce can evaporated milk
1/4 cup whole milk or cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
15-ounce container whipped topping
1/2 cup sprinkles, optional
1/2 cup sliced almonds, optional
12-ounce jar maraschino cherries, drained and dried
Optional toppings:
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 teaspoon almond extract in place of the vanilla
1/2 cup colored sprinkles or chocolate jimmies
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Fresh sliced berries
Pineapple slices and maraschino cherries, drained and dried
Canned sliced peaches, drained and dried
Directions:
Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Spray a 9-by-13-inch cake pan with nonstick baking spray.
Mix and bake the cake as directed on the box. Once it’s golden and baked through, let it cool completely. (Try to resist digging in... I believe in you 😅)
Once the cake is cool, take a toothpick or a skewer and poke holes all over the top. This is where all the milky magic will soak in! 🪄
🥛✨In a pitcher or mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk or cream, cinnamon and vanilla.
Pour the mixture sloooowly over the cake, letting it soak into every delicious poked hole.
Let the cake sit for about 20–30 minutes or over night so it can fully absorb all the creamy goodness.
Spread the whipped topping all over the cake like a fluffy cloud ☁️.
Add desired toppings such as sprinkles and cherries on top for a pop of color and fun! 🎊🍒
