Ice Tumbler Topper
Quantity – 1 Topper Prep Time – 10 Min
Design and Drying Time – 2 hours
Materials:
UV Resin
UV Light - I recommend having large lamp
Tumbler Lid - 20oz, 30oz or 40oz size - Note you will need more ice chips and resin.
Sublimation Tumbler Coaster - to match the same size as your tumbler lid
Small strong round magnets
Sandpaper or nail file
Stones/Ice Cubes - acrylic or epoxy resin based
Simulated Fruit or other desired decor of choice - acrylic or epoxy resin based
Directions:
Step 1
Remove the plastic protector from one side of the coaster. (They are placed for the sublimation protection) Wipe and clean the top of the coaster and tumbler lid with alcohol. Place magnets on tumbler top where it alines with the coaster and sits level. You may have to move the magnets in different places to get the correct depending on the design and size of your tumbler lid. Example: Stanley tumblers come with the the turn lock topper, while the yeti and arctic tumbler tops have a magnetic slider.
Add glue to the bottom of the correct side of the magnet. This will hold it in place while you apply a little UV resin. Cure under the UV light to seal the area for 1-3 minutes. It will cure both clear and rock hard.
Step 2
Now that you have the magnest in place, flip over your lid topper to start building your design. By working in small sections, apply a moderate coating of UV Resin to the top and arrange the ice cubes to fit snuggly into place. This will become your base. Cure under the UV light for 1-3 minutes until rock hard.
Continue to build your ice by layering cubes and resin, curing for 1-3 minutes in between section by section.
Step 3
Once you have made the topper as high and wide as you prefer, it's time to add on any gems, or decorations you would like to create a specific design. Yo can use We can simulated acrylic or epoxy resin fruit decor, glitter, sequence, gems etc. to complete your design. Just be sure each piece is secured with UV Resin and cure in between each item added.
Step 4
Once you have the desired look with the stones and simulated fruit, check for loose areas and then place a layer of resin over everything to secure everrythng in place one last time. Cure entire lid under the UV light for 5 minutes until completely rock hard, and you project is now sealed.
Notes
You can make one for everday of the week, season, gifts, or to sell at your local craft shows. Have fun with your designs.
I have creatd one for my Iced Coffee tumbler and summer drinks. Pictures will be added soon. 💜
*Hand wash only to prolong the life of your lid, no abrasive sponges or soaps. Please do not place in microwave, dishwasher or soak in water. Do not drop, these are a delicate decoration and can break with hard handling or falls.
**Due to small pieces this lid is not recommended for children.
