There are great ideas in your local grocery store, but other store-bought ideas include: Ice cream cake, frozen pies, cookies, and of course cupcakes. Another easy dessert idea my homemade Cookies and Cream Dip , cream cheese fruit dip or cannoli dip and have star shaped fruits, marshmallows, mini cookies and more to dip in. Dress it up by putting piece of tissue paper, or holiday/occasion inspired napkin, in the box before placing the cookies inside and finish it off with a pretty bow of ribbon or twine. Place the plate in the center of a piece of cellophane, bring all the sides up over the plate and gather them together. Tie with ribbon, tulle or twine. Bake the cookies the same size and stack them in a large mouth mason jar. Cover the lid, or with fabric or paper, or wrap jar in a pretty kitchen towel. Tie a ribbon around the top and add a cute tag. Save those Pringles cans! Wash and dry, then wrap the can with decorative paper (Check out my firecraker container). Stack the cookies in the can, cover with the lid, and top with a gift wrapping bow. So easy! You can make fire Tube bags make the perfect pretty cookie packages as well as individually wrapping each cake pop and tying off with a ribbon. A standard serving is 6–8 oz. Keep both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options on hand! 🍰 Sweet Endings (Desserts) Plan to have at least 2 dessert options for every 10 guests. I always recommend one rich chocolate dessert and one fruit-based treat to please all the sweet tooths. Here's how to build a balanced (and crowd-pleasing) variety. This is the perfect spot to bring out salads, and hot sides that go with everything: Use seasonal ingredients — they’re fresher and budget-friendly. Include at least one vegetable, one starch, and one salad for a well-rounded plate. Choose recipes that can be made or prepped ahead to reduce stress on party day. Mix the classic favorites with something new to surprise and delight your guests. Hosting 6 or fewer? Stick with 3–4 sides. For every additional 5 guests, add one more side dish. Before you dive into planning, be sure to browse through my collection of decadent desserts and cookies perfect for celebrating in style. ✨ 🍰 Setting Up a Show-Stopping NYE Dessert Table Your dessert table should be as stunning to look at as it is to indulge in. Whether you're going big or keeping it simple, here are some easy tips to create a setup that feels festive and fun: 🎇 Create a Backdrop Use fabric, curtains, twinkle lights, a balloon arch, or even a simple blank wall — anything to help your dessert colors pop in photos and add a little drama to the table! 🎂 Add Height and Layers Use tiered cake stands, stack books or boxes under tablecloths, or place platters on risers to create dimension. Varying the height makes the display more eye-catching. 🌸 Add Decorative Touches Flowers, candles, fairy lights, or a mini New Year’s sign can all add elegance and charm to the table. Even a few gold or silver accents go a long way! 💡 Helpful Dessert Table Tips: Make Ahead When You Can – Many desserts can be made in advance and even frozen. Check each recipe for make-ahead and freezer-friendly notes. Let Guests Help – Desserts are one of the easiest things to delegate when someone asks, “What can I bring?” Mix Homemade + Store-Bought – Don’t stress! If you’re short on time, supplement with bakery cookies, chocolates, or even candy trays. It’s all about presentation. 🎉 Easy New Year’s Dessert Ideas: Chocolate fondue bar – Set out marshmallows, fruit, cookies, and pretzels to dip into a rich chocolate or cream cheese dip. Decorate-your-own cookies – Bake sugar cookies ahead of time and let guests (especially kids!) decorate them with icing and sprinkles. Mini treats for everyone – Package up a few truffles or cookies in cute boxes or bags to place at each guest’s setting — a sweet surprise to take home. Festive drinks – Serve sparkling cider or punch in stemmed glasses to make it feel extra fancy (plastic works great for kids!). Sweet table scatter – Sprinkle M&Ms, chocolate kisses, edible confetti, or gold-wrapped candies around the table for an extra pop of fun. Make your dessert table just as memorable as the countdown itself — whether you go all out or keep it simple, a few thoughtful touches can turn your sweet spread into something truly special. 🥂 Here’s to a new year full of flavor, fun, and lots of dessert! Cookies N' Cream Dip Oreo Truffles Party Popcorn German Chocolate Truffles New Year's Gift Tips ✨ Sweet Ways to Make New Year’s Eve Extra Special I love making every holiday feel a little magical... especially for my husband. 💛 And one of my favorite ways to do that is by surprising him with a special dessert or sweet treat to celebrate the occasion. If you’re looking to add a little extra sparkle to your New Year’s table, here are some fun and simple ideas: 🎉 Dress Up the Dessert Table Decor for festive flair! Think: Gold, silver, or midnight blue plates and napkins Glittery confetti, mini disco balls, or sparkly candles A festive balloon garland or a simple floral centerpiece with metallic accents Even just a few thoughtful touches can make your dessert table feel celebration-ready! 🛒 No Time to Bake? No Problem! If your schedule’s packed (or baking just isn’t your thing), go for fun store-bought treats that still feel festive: Frosted sugar cookies from your local bakery Chocolate-dipped pretzels or truffles Mini cupcakes with gold or silver sprinkles A favorite candy bar at each guest’s place setting Presentation is everything... dress them up on a pretty platter or in individual treat boxes! 🍫 Easy (and Crowd-Pleasing) Dessert Idea: FONDUE! Set up a fun fondue station with dips like: Cookies and cream dip Cream cheese fruit dip Cannoli dip Then add dippers like strawberries, mini cookies, marshmallows, brownie bites, or pretzels. Everyone loves a good dip-and-snack moment! 🥂 Add a Special Touch Serve sparkling cider or punch in stemmed glasses for that NYE feel... use plastic ones for the kids. Sprinkle the table with festive candies like gold-wrapped chocolates or colorful M&Ms. Place a small treat box (truffles, macarons, or cookies!) at each place setting or end of the cocktail table as a sweet takeaway gift. 🍪 Fun for the Kids Set up a sugar cookie decorating station! Bake the cookies ahead of time, then let the little ones (and adults!) decorate with icing, sprinkles, and edible glitter after dinner. 🎁 A Thoughtful Touch Want to make your evening feel even more personal? Create a small New Year’s keepsake for each guest — a note of encouragement, a tiny 2026 calendar, or a charm with their name. "Find the perfect Father’s Day gift ideas, recipes, and celebration tips to make dad feel special and appreciated." F a t h e r ' s D a y Why not spoil the men in our lives that we love so dear with an amazing meal?! These Father's Day dinner ideas will help you do just that. Give him a day he will never forget! I've got you covered for Father's Day 2026! Celebrate Dad With A Meal! I love celebrating Father’s Day and ensuring my husband is recognized and appreciated for all he does and for being the best father and hubby on the planet. One of the ways I celebrate is with a delicious homemade dinner on this special occasion! I will even recreate his favorite restaurant meal on occasion. Savory to sweet. There’s a mix of classic and unique main dishes , side dishes , and desserts for every skill level and taste preference! Gift ideas. Besides delicious recipes, we’ve included creative non-food ideas for celebrating Father’s Day, adding an extra special touch to the occasion. For every dad. Whether your dad is a meat and potatoes kind of guy, or loves a loaded salad , or a Pepperoni Pizza , there are plenty of yummy ideas to add to your Father’s Day menu. Delicious Menu Ideas To play, press and hold the enter key. To stop, release the enter key. Plan the Menu Whether you’re planning a small dinner for Dad or hosting a large gathering, planning your Father’s Day meal menu ahead of time helps: Watch local grocery store ads for sales. Make any new recipes ahead of time to work out trial and error. (Hey it happens to the best of us!) Make it a pot luck gathering. Allow friends and family to bring a dish. Include dishes that can be made ahead of time. (This is always a saver for me!) Make sure you have enough time and space to cook everything. Using a crock pot helps free up the oven and stovetop space. Grilling Tips A backyard barbecue is a common way we celebrate Father’s Day. Some Dads love to grill but others may appreciate a break from the duty. Here are a few tips to help you step in: Take the meat out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before grilling. Create a chart that lays out what item will be grilled in what section, as well as how long each piece of meat will need to cook. Do not overlap the different types of food before or during grilling. Use a meat thermometer to test the temperature of each type of meat. (Be sure to clean it off with soapy water between uses so you don't cross contaminate.) It can be tempting to poke, prod, and flip the meat, but don’t. It would help if you only flipped it once. By doing so you allow each side to heat up enough to start forming a nice caramelized crust. Grilling vegetables takes a fraction of the time as the meat. Since meat needs to rest once it is done cooking, this is a perfect time to reduce the heat and grill up your veggies. If you add BBQ Sauce or other flavorful sauces too early, it just tends to char. Allow your meat to cook almost completely before coating it with the sauce. Allow meat to rest for a few minutes before cutting. This will hold in the juices so you don't loose all the flavor . Best Father's Day Lunch & Dinner Ideas Grilled Steaks are always a hit with the guys. Marinated, or dry rubbed, and grilled to perfection with a side of corn on the cob and loaded baked potatoes and you're good to go! Or check out this long list of King-approved favorites that any guy is sure to love – like my finger licking, bite off the bone baby back ribs! Here are some other fun ways to make the day special. To go all out, use your dad’s favorite hobby as a theme for the meal. Crown him “ King for the Day” and turn his seat at the table into a throne. Have kids help cook dinner. Younger kids can help wash produce, pour, and stir. Older kids can help peel and cut produce. They can measure and follow simple recipes. Teens 12+ should be able to cook on the stove and in the oven. Take him to his favorite ice cream parlor. Plan to do dad’s favorite activity- have a video game competition, go to a car show, go fishing, play catch or his favorite board game. Serve him breakfast in bed. (That's always a hit in my house!) Begin a memory book. Ask questions about his childhood and record the answers. Continue to ask new questions each week and present him with a completed book the next year. Using a weekly meal plan saves time and money at the grocery store and in the kitchen while keeping your meals fresh and healthy. FREE Grocery List Most of the meal plans include recipes for a family of four. The recipes tend to have similar ingredients to minimize the number of grocery trips you’ll need to make and reduce waste. You’ll notice that each grocery list is divided by sections in a grocery store to make shopping easier for you. You can print out this grocery list or copy/paste it into a grocery list app and check things off as you buy them at the store. The meal plan grocery lists are a life saver! Why Start Meal Planning? From my own experience through life, there is nothing worse then the thought of "What should I make for dinner?" or "Damn, I forgot to take something out to defrost for dinner"? while sitting at work mid day; or the dreaded text message from your spouse or kiddo asking "What's for dinner?" And you have nothing more to say other than... "I have no idea!" Trust me... I was even tired of hearing my own answer too! Having a meal plan for the week will eliminates this stress from your life all together, which is one great benefit I have gained in my life now! Besides having a plan in place, there are several other benefits of meal planning, including: Cutting Cost: Now that inflation has become a huge problem... This is major concern for all of us. When you have a plan set in place, and a specific list of groceries, you eliminate cost wasted on impulse items or produce that never gets used. Now, this isn't counting your snacks you may like to add to your pantry or fridge for the week. Little to No Waste: Wasting money makes me want to cry. I was raised frugal, so it has been instilled in me since I was a child. No wasted money, and no wasted food! Having a set grocery list will help to avoid both of those issues. Variety & Change: My meal plan project is specializing to include a lot of variety, this helps from having the same repetitive meals weekly and hearing "This again!?" So I have compiled menus with a change of Mexican , Asian , Irish , Italian and even Breakfast for Dinner! You and your family can now travel all over the world right from your kitchen table! No More Dinner Roulette: I did some research, and came across something that made me have an Oprah "Ah Ha" moment. Did you know about “decision fatigue” ? It's when you can’t make a decision bases on having to make so many and in this case a big one on something ( like what to make for dinner ) it actually makes you mentally tired. No wonder I would get tired and have an instant migraine when the thought came into my head! When your dinners/daily meals are already planned out, you avoid dealing with this completely! Healthy Habits Without Even Realizing: When you plan/anticipate making well-rounded meals, you’re much more likely to actually make them rather than defaulting to convenience foods like boxed mac and cheese, tuna helper, frozen meals meals, or unhealthy fast food! Home made foods are always going to be a better choice, as you control what is being added to your dishes. Doin't get me wrong, I have my "cheat days" and grab a nasty, greasy burger and fries here an there... 😉 We are all human and always on the go these days! But as you can see, there are SO many benefits to meal planning! Be adventurous and try making your own meal plans or menu by visiting each of the sections in my Recipe Box tab above or the individual recipes on my Blog Page . "Celebrate Valentine’s Day with romantic recipes, thoughtful gift ideas, and creative ways to show your love and appreciation." V a l e n t i n e ' s D a y 💖 Let's Make Valentine’s Day Extra Special, Fun, and Full of Love (With Handmade Gifts, Sweet Treats & More!) 💘 Tired of the same old Valentine’s routine? Let’s shake things up with creativity, laughter, and heart-melting moments! This year, ditch the store-bought stuff and make the day truly unforgettable with thoughtful handmade gifts, cozy home-cooked meals, and baking that smells (and tastes!) like love. Whether you're celebrating with a partner, friends, or flying solo, I’ve got fun, feel-good ideas to fill your day with joy, sweetness, and all the warm fuzzy vibes. 💕🍪🎁 I've have you covered for Valentine's Day 2026! Making It Special What a perfect holiday to celebrate with your loved ones. Whether it be you and your significant other friends or your little kiddos! Before I share recipes, I wanted to give you a few ideas on how to make the day a little extra special. Here are our tops tips for an amazing Valentine's Dinner: Use champagne glasses for sparkling cider or another yummy drink to make it more special. (Plastic for the kids) Add some candles to your dinner to make it a little more special. Add a coloring book and box of crayons to the table for the kids to color before or during dinner. Keep all the food pink or red to make it extra festive! Include fondue with the dinner. Whether it’s savory cheese or sweet caramel or chocolate with fruit, everyone will love it! Dinner for 2, 4, 6 or 8? When it comes to building a menu for Valentine’s, it all starts with the main dish. Are you cooking for 2? A couple of gal pals? The entire family? Once you’ve decided that, you can go on to pick your appetizers, drinks, sides, and dessert. I feel it's always a good idea to do a mix of homemade and store bought food so you don’t have to create every part of the meal. For example, make the main dish and buy a bagged salad and fruit for sides. Make the dessert and buy the drink. Makes for less work, but just as good. Semi-Homemade is the best! It’s the perfect side for your Mexican meals and my version of a famous restaurants side dish! " Sometimes street corn is served as an entire cob on a skewer and called “elote”, but this recipe is for Mexican corn off the cob. I personally think it’s easier to prepare that way! Mexican Street Corn Servings – 8 Prep Time – 10 Minutes Cook Time – 15 Minutes Ingredients: 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 tablespoon lime juice 1 ½ teaspoons chili powder 2 16-ounce bags frozen corn ¼ cup chopped cilantro 3 tablespoons cotija cheese, you can also use feta if you don't have access to Mexican cheese 2 tablespoons olive oil ¼ cup minced red onion 1 jalapeño, diced and seeds removed; optional if you like spicey heat in your life! Sauce 3 tablespoons mayonnaise 2 tablespoons sour cream 2 tablespoons lime juice ½ teaspoon ground cumin ½ teaspoon smoked sweet paprika ¼ teaspoon chili powder ¼ teaspoon salt Directions: Heat a 14-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and swirl to coat the bottom of the skillet. Spread frozen corn evenly across the skillet; do not stir. Cook corn for approximately 8 minutes. Check the corn; it should be slightly charred. If not, allow to continue cooking for 4 more minutes (stirring is fine at this point.) Add in minced onion. Stir t0 combine. Meanwhile, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lime juice, cumin, paprika, chili powder, and salt in a large bowl. Set aside. Once corn is sufficiently browned/charred, and onion is slightly translucent; transfer to the bowl with dressing and toss to coat. Add cotija cheese, and cilantro and mix until well combined. Quick and easy chocolaty dessert recipe that everyone will love. " Is there anything better than a cake sandwich? Classic Whoopie Pies feature cocoa cakes with a creamy marshmallow filling. Usually; I don’t like things that have a more cakey texture. I prefer my cookies to be chewy and my brownies to be fudgy. However, for some reason the texture of a whoopie pie just makes me feel like a kid again. They’re slightly chewy around the edges but soft and cakey throughout. Not to mention each ‘pie’ is filled high with luscious marshmallow fluff frosting. Classic Whoopie Pies Servings – 18 Prep Time – 35 Minutes Cook Time – 10 Minutes Ingredients: Chocolate Whoopie Pies: 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 2/3 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt 1 stick unsalted butter, at cool room temperature 1 cup lightly packed dark brown sugar 1 large egg, at room temperature 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/4 cups buttermilk, at room temperature Marshmallow Filling: 1-13oz container of marshmallow creme fluff 15 tablespoons unsalted butter, at cool room temperature 1 cup + 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, sifted 1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt Directions: For the Whoopie Pies: Preheat oven to 375°F. Line large baking sheets with parchment paper. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter and brown sugar on low speed until combined. Increase speed to medium high and beat for 3 minutes, or until light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the egg and vanilla and beat on medium-high speed for another 3 minutes, or until very well combined. Add half of the flour mixture then half of the buttermilk to the batter and beat on low until combined, scraping down the sides and bottom of the bowl as necessary. Add remaining buttermilk and flour, beating until combined. Mixture will be fluffy and slightly sticky like a very thick cake batter. Use a medium 1 1/2-tablespoon spring-loaded scoop to drop mounds of batter onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 11 minutes, or until pies spring back slightly when pressed gently and appear dry on top. Let cakes cool on pans for 5 minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely. Filling: In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the marshmallow creme and butter on low speed until combined. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl. Mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt on low speed until combined then increase to medium high and beat until very smooth, about 3 minutes. Assemble: Use a medium 1 1/2-tablespoon spring-loaded scoop to dollop marshmallow filling on the flat side of half the whoopie pies. Sandwich gently with the remaining whoopie pies. If transporting, chill the whoopie pies in the fridge for at least an hour before transporting to make firmer and less fragile. Serve chilled for a more fudgy texture. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to a day or in the fridge for up to 4 days. "This recipe is a keeper. a New England phenomenon and a Pennsylvania Amish tradition, whoopie pie historians have decided that it has its origins in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country!"
